Haven't you always wanted to improve your research skills? Now is the time. 2-credit undergraduate online course NYIT 120-Information Literacy will begin January 22nd, 2007, and run through April 13, 2007.
Throughout this course you will assume a greater control over your own education by learning how to determine when information is needed, how to access and evaluate information sources properly, and how to select and use those sources effectively, ethically and legally in order to complete a well-organized research project, and become a lifelong learner.
The research project must use information found through the search of databases, catalogs, indexes, and the Internet. The research project must also be outlined and organized effectively and demonstrate the ethical use and attribution of sources used. The purpose is to provide you with the necessary skills to research and write papers. These skills can then be applied to any future research, writing assignments and lifelong learning.
